BEYAZIT UstaWe did not know the answer until we met BEYAZIT Usta at Galeri Cengiz Rug Store. BEYAZIT Usta is master restoration man who has more than 20 years of experience in this work of art. He has offered to be a chief of restoration department when the company "Galeri Cengiz Rug Store" came out with this idea seven years ago. He and his friends are restoring old rugs for the company, for collectors and for dealers in Europe and in US since then. |

He is saying that the most important is matching the wool type,
color and spin of a yarn in restorations. Galeri Cengiz Restoration
maintains a large diverse inventory of restoration yarn.
Wools are collected form a variety of Anatolian sources
and custom spun by hand. Then these wools are dyed with
natural plants and minerals by the in-house dye shop. After having all these taken care of , the rest is up to work experience and technical ability of restorers which is also BEYAZIT Usta's primary criteria in selecting restorers to work with. |
